Today we collaborated with our kindergarten friends in Texas for a game of 20 Questions. Their class, with the help of their teacher, Mrs. Adams put a secret picture on a google doc and allowed us to ask 20 questions to see if we could guess the image. I was impressed with our questioning skills! We had a few discussions about not guessing what they thought it was right away, but to ask clarifying questions to narrow their thoughts. It wasn't only fun, but we learned a lot too! We got to a certain point that we even did some quick research to figure out the type of cow :) What fun learning! Thanks to Mrs. Adams class for participating with us and to mattbgomez.com for the idea. Check out a short video below to get a glimpse of our fun this morning.
And- check out the pics below of our Writing Workshop. Today we worked on getting helpful feedback from our writing partners. Wow, a hard task, but the conversations were so wonderful. Each partner shared their writing and then the listening partner tried to give a "wow" and a "huh." Ask your child to explain their learning. I can't believe, first, the quality of writing at this point in the year, and second, the conversations and feedback that is taking place already.
