Today we used a new tool during Reader's Workshop- a web based tool called Padlet. Wow, the kids loved it, and thought it was so fun to see each other's ideas. We plan to use this in the future for other concepts. It is real time learning, using a different tool, enhancing learning and keeping it FUN!

Back to blogging...it has been a while. We need to get back into blogging and thinking about our learning. Sorry for the lack of posts! Wanted to share a few of the math activities we have complete the last few days. These are great examples to show how we use our technology to ENHANCE and not replace any of our learning or curriculum. Below is a math lesson from this week- we worked on patterns with symbols and motions, then we used coins we know to extend the patterning idea with another math concept in kindergarten- coins. Check out a few of the videos below.
Here are is another activity from today- we learned about half. Beyond the lesson, I had students use FeltBoard to find 6 objects that could be divided in half and then use ShowMe to draw the line to indicate half. Here is one sample,,, In both of these lesson, I am just amazed and proud of the thinking and collaboration that takes place. They step up to every challenge I give them. With the appropriate support, structure and creativity, they create many great application examples- showing me everything they know.
