So...be sure to check out all of our pictures below. We had a great week learning about space! Our favorite part of the week was creating our mural. Wow- were these kiddos impressive! First, we learned a little about space. Next, I grouped the students in groups of 3-4 for the first part of the mural. They chose a part of the solar system to create and then "researched" it. Yes- these kinders researched! Then, they made a plan of how they were going to create their part of the solar system. Finally- they CREATED it. They were SO creative. And, they amazed me at how they used teamwork, cooperation, and compromise to create their portion of the project. Then, we did it all again on the second day- finishing all the parts of space. I am really trying to incorporate more "project based learning" into our day- and this was one idea that turned out fantastic. While I think we have fun learning on most days- I heard lots of great conversation on these two days- and they learned things I can't teach! It was a win!
