Wow! Grandparent's Day was a HUGE success! We had such a time! It was fun meeting all of the Grandparent's and Special Friends- we had a great turn out! Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible! A huge thanks to Mrs. Geragosian for organizing the event for our classroom, Mrs. Bauman for setting up all of the goodies so they were ready for us, and Mrs. Stanifer for being our class photographer for the event! It was perfect!! October 23rd: NO SCHOOL October 30th: Halloween Party- parade starts at 9:15, party in the classroom to follow. Theme This Week: Fall/Leaves/Bats/Halloween Reading: Here are the concepts we will cover in Reading Street this week: Phonics: /a/ spelled Aa Phonemic Awareness: initial and medial /a/ Popcorn Words/Sight Words: have, is Comprehension: compare and contrast Writing: We started writing 3-PAGE books! The kids are loving it. This week, we will work on: planning a 3 part story with a beginning, middle, and end. Math: This week we will work on: number stories, shapes, sorting, counting, graphing, comparing | HOMEWORK/PROJECTS/THINGS SENT HOME: Practice Popcorn Words: I, am, the, little, a, to Reading Street Homework: Unit 1, Week 6 Math HomeLink 2.7 and 2.8 OTHER: 1. We were one of the top earning classes for the Fun Run fundraiser....THANK YOU! We will enjoy a popcorn and movie party on November 6th!! 2. Picture Re-take Day: October 29th, if you are interested in having your child's picture retaken. Another picture packet will be sent home on Monday. 3.
