I am looking for a parent willing to be the BoxTop coordinator :) You'd be in charge of making sure we've followed all the rules and submitting our BoxTops :) I have information to get you started...let me know if you're interested. First come, first serve :) Conferences are coming up in November- please use this link to sign up for a conference time- I will meet with every family this time around- to give you an update on your child's progress thus far. Click here to sign up for a conference REMINDERS: If you've not returned the Grandparent's Day RSVP form, or let me know, please do so, we need to get a rough count on the amount of grandparents and special friends who'll be attending. IMPORTANT DATES: October 20th: Grandparent's Day, 9:30am. Please return the RSVP form so we know how many to plan for. Each child will need a special person to attend that morning, whether it be a grandparent or someone else. October 26th- PICTURE RE-TAKES:) Be sure to let me know that you plan on doing this, as it gets closer- so I am sure to send your child down. November 18th- Kindergarten Pow Wow- info to come home later, but a date to reserve on your calendar- we need lots of parent support and it is one of our biggest events! December 16th- Holiday Program, 9:30am You'll want to mark this on your calendar- it is one of the bigger events of the year. We will perform at SALINE HIGH SCHOOL. The performance usually lasts about 30 minutes. December 22nd, 9am: Pancakes and Pajamas More information to come, but we will be serving pancakes for breakfast and wearing pajamas for the day. Theme This Week: Grandparent's Day Reading: Here are the concepts we will cover in Reading Street this week: Phonics: /m/ spelled Mm Phonemic Awareness: initial and final /m/ Popcorn Words/Sight Words: a, to (week 1) Writing: The focus of our lessons this week: labeling people, labeling pictures, using an alphabet chart, evaluating our writing Math: This week we will work on: counting and comparing sets, shapes, number boards (concept of 1 more), developing understanding of addition and subtracting with manipulatives. | PROJECTS/THINGS SENT HOME/THINGS TO PRACTICE: Travel Books: These will begin to come home this week, however it might be a few weeks until you get one at YOUR house. These are books we make in class and then they travel to each child's home for a night. Please try to read the book the night it comes home with your child, so we can quickly get them to all students. Soon, there will be several circulating. Please note- if your child was absent on the day we completed the book, they will not have a page in the book. SeeSaw: Information was sent last week...I strongly suggest you check it out and follow. We've had several parents log in and they are enjoying seeing their students work and a glimpse into their day. Let me know if you have questions! Raz-Kids: Information sent last week. Again, a great at home resource if you're interested in giving your kids leveled books to read at home!
