February 15th- No school- President's Day Theme This Week: Space Reading: Text-Based Comprehension: plot Phonics: /f/ spelled Ff Phonemic Awareness: Initial and Final /f/ Popcorn Words: see, look, on, in Writing: This week, I will model a 3 page story for students and for two days following, students will be asked to write their own 3 page story with out support. This is our second writing assessment of the school year. This will be kept on file for report cards. Math: We will focus on: equal symbol, addition symbol, comparing heights | HOMEWORK/PROJECTS/THINGS SENT HOME: Practice Popcorn Words: I, am, the, little, a, to, have, is, we, my, like, he, for, with, me, she, see, look, on, in Reading Street Homework: Unit 3, Week 4 Math HomeLink 5.8 and 5.10 Other: We are in need of quite a few items for our space studies for next week. If you are interested in helping with donating a few items, see the sign up below, your help and generosity is MUCH appreciated- it helps us keep learning FUN and hands-on :) We will need some items on Monday- if you are able to donate and send them in on Monday, that'd be great. The informational note has directions and the link (or see previous blog post) Book Orders- don't forget, all orders are done online, Under "helpful links" on my website, there is more information if you need it. Order due: January 25th "Book in a Bag" Please be sure to spend a bit of time reading and rereading the books your child brings home in the yellow envelope. They are taking the responsibility of choosing their books to bring home to show you. Just a few minutes each night can make a big difference. Don't forget about Raz-Kids too! This is a great resource of leveled books. We don't get to spend much of our class time on the app, but it is a really beneficial reading app for your child! Give it a try if you haven't!
