We had a great week! Our student teacher, Mrs. Maxam is settling in nicely- taking over more and more teaching. The kids are also getting used to someone else in the classroom :) We are have lots of fun, as always! IMPORTANT DATES: January 18th: No School- MLK Day January 27th: Natural History Museum Field Trip- information sent last week. We still need ONE more chaperone. February 15th- No school- President's Day Theme This Week: Dinosaurs Reading: Text-Based Comprehension: cause and effect Phonics: /d/ spelled Dd and /k/ spelled Kk Phonemic Awareness: initial /d/ and /k/ Popcorn Words: see, look, on, in Writing: Main ideas we will work on this week: Adding more details to pictures and stories, writing sentences that tell a story, and the power of re-reading Math: We will focus on: comparison number stories, representing and comparing teen numbers, and the equal symbol | HOMEWORK/PROJECTS/THINGS SENT HOME: Practice Popcorn Words: I, am, the, little, a, to, have, is, we, my, like, he, for, with, me, she, see, look, on, in Reading Street Homework: Unit 3, Week 3 Math HomeLink 5.4 and 5.5 Other: Don't forget to pay $6.00 for the Natural History Museum field trip.
