We had a great week! We had a lot of fun reading Dr. Seuss books and doing crazy Seuss projects! I posted the March is Reading Month information notes on the blog, for your reference, if they are needed. They were sent home last week- but incase you've misplaced them, you can refer below. They are on the next post down. The reading log is not posted. If you've not sent in $9 for your child to attend the field trip to Click Clack Moo on the 13th- please do so this week. Week of March 23rd: Kindergarten Music Open House: you're welcome to attend a music class- to see what they do on a daily basis. March 19, 20: I will be out of the classroom- presenting at the MACUL conference in Detroit. Mrs. DeVries will be the guest teacher- both days. Please note...starting March 9th, the rotations switch... See below. Time remains the same, where they go each day is different. | Theme This Week: Goldilocks and the 3 Bears Reading: Here are the concepts we will cover in Reading Street: Text-Based Comprehension: character Phonics: /g/ spelled Gg Phonemic Awareness: Initial and Final /g/ Popcorn Words: here, go, from, and Writing: We will continue our work with transition words- and learning new words we can use for transitions, and continue working on teaching with pictures. The How-To unit is quite repetitive, diving deeper each time. The writing is turning out great! Math: Here are the concepts/lessons we will work on this week: concrete representation of subtraction AND addition (Growing and Disappearing Train), number stories with symbols (+-=), using a number line to solve addition and subtraction problems.
